There are two separate services you'll need for a functioning website - a domain name plus a hosting plan for it. When you type the Internet domain in your browser, you see the content that is uploaded in the website hosting account, but if that domain name is not linked to such an account or to an email service, it is parked. To put it differently, the domain name is registered and you're its owner, but it does not have any content of its own. Rather, it can open either a pre-made “Under Construction / For Sale” Internet page from the registrar company, or it could be directed to some other URL of your choice. The advantage of parking a domain name is that you can keep it and make sure that no one else will take it. Meanwhile, it's not going to take a slot for a hosted domain name inside your account. You may also park domain names if you have a .com, for example, and you register domain names with other extensions like .net, .org or country-code ones to forward them to the main site as a way to protect a brand name.

Parked Domains in Shared Hosting

With each and every shared hosting plan we offer you’ll be able to park as many domain addresses as you want and unlike other companies, we don't have any service fees for that. Needless to say, you can do this just for domain addresses which are registered through us because parking a domain is possible only through the registrar, but not through the host unless you have both services with just one company. We've got a feature-rich Domain Manager tool where you can quickly park and un-park domain addresses, pick one of the templates that we provide and add custom text to it, or forward a domain address to a URL of your choice. If you host a parked domain, our system will change its name servers and create a folder in the File Manager automatically. Additionally you can set filters to check out only the parked or only the hosted domain addresses, which will permit you to manage them really easy.
