Once in a while you may have to block specific third parties from accessing your websites. There are a number of automatic bots that crawl the Internet, for instance, and produce fake visits and online traffic. There are also spammers who leave links to shady Internet sites as comments to site articles. This type of things may greatly undermine your hard work, as no one likes to visit a site with hundreds of fake comments, not to mention that the increased site traffic from both spammers and bots may generate high load on the web server in which your website is hosted, which may result in the site not working correctly. One of the best solutions in cases like this is to block the IP addresses that create the fake traffic, as a way to make certain that the visits to your website are authentic.

IP Blocking in Shared Hosting

If you have a shared hosting account with our company and you would like to block one or a few IP addresses, you may use the IP Blocking tool, that's included in our in-house built Hepsia CP. By using a really simple interface, you could prevent any IP from accessing your content even if you have never had a web hosting account before. All it requires to perform this is to log inside to your CP, to visit the IP Blocking section, to choose a certain domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to type in the IP address. You won't need to do anything difficult if you'd like to block a whole network - you'll simply have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot shall block the full range from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255. All blocked IPs will be listed inside the very same section, so you shall be able to remove any of them from the blacklist with simply a click.
